The Comprehensive music and audio library

Containing over 40,000 music videos and 60,000 audio tracks, the Soundnet library isn’t simply one of the most exhaustive in the world – it also utilises verified metadata, allowing software companies to make creative use of this vast store of entertainment content and programme exciting applications for music and video.

A landmark deal with the British Library in 2005 allowed Soundnet to source every Top 40 hit since 1952. The data we receive from the Official Chart Company has also enabled our partner Sound Leisure to create a jukebox application allowing customers to search for songs that were in the charts on any significant date – from birthdays to anniversaries.

Our library is carefully divided into Main Categories, eg Rock, as well as Multiple Sub-Categories such as 70s Rock, Rock Anthems and Metal. Users also benefit from the control and flexibility provided by categories including Beats Per Minute, Artist Image, In-Out points (allowing software to remove non-music intros), Speed rating, Cinema rating (U, R, X) and Controversial.

Soundnet is the only source of European music video content. Our representatives source video content exclusively for us in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Holland across all genres.

Soundnet can also provide the relevant licenses to companies who wish to use our content and we possess current licenses in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Holland, Ireland and Greece.

Licensing highlights include the first ever hard-disc licence exceeding 30,000 tracks in the UK, the first ever background licence in Greece and the first ever background video license in Germany.
